Michael Steele has stepped aside as RNC Chair

Reince Priebus is the new chairman of the Republican National Committee. He won with 97 votes in the seventh round of voting. He is from Wisconsin and I know nothing about him. Steele has fought criticism almost from the beginning of his term.

Hopefully he can steer the RNC into the direction it needs to go and raise funds. Steele was a whiner.

I was excited when Steele became chairman, but his performance has been much less than what I hoped for.

I have no idea who this new person is.

Same here. I hope he does not turn out to be someone who looks for RINOS so they can win! ::)

I hope so, too! I'm going to have to do some research on our new guy in charge!

I like Mike, but he didn't have enough fire for the job. I'm glad a change was made, even if most of us are not familiar with the new man.

Can someone post how to pronounce his name? :)) ;D

Seriously. Erick Erickson says he hears this guy (assuming it's a guy?) is very pro-life, and was behind the turnaround in Wisconsin...they elected a Republican governor, doncha know, and both houses went Republican. IN WISCONSIN.

Yep, I think one of the seats he helped win was held by Russ Feingold. Never could stand that guy!

Remember, a lot of people were excited about Steele when he was elected to chair the RNC.

I don't get excited about anybody anymore. When I see somebody's record, I believe them. Otherwise, I hear their words (promises) and say ok, that sounds fine, but I'll fully believe you when you back it up with actions.

Some of the tea party folks around the country didn't want this guy elected, but I'm not enough in the know to know what that was all about. I do know they liked Saul Anuzis (sp?) of Michigan better. But it could simply be a fiscal conservatism v. social conservatism thing.
