Atlanta Falcons

Through the years I've attended many Falcons games. Some were memorable, some were just rotten. I've seen the Saints beat Atlanta more times than I can recall, the Bucs during their awful years, and of course America's team, the Dallas Cowboys. Saints fans were always a lot of fun and Giants fans were obnoxious... I remember the old Fulton County Stadium, sitting there in the rain, Falcons getting whipped by teams who were almost as awful as they were. Still, I went and bought jerseys, hats, bumper stickers and of of course, plenty of food and beverage. I remember Leeman Bennett and the Falcons' Grits Blitz, Deion Sanders, William Andrews, quarterbacks like Mike Vick , Chris Miller, Chris Chandler, Bobby Hebert, and Steve Bartkowski. I've suffered through a couple of awful quarterbacks too, remember Jeff George? he bites, ouch, very painful to watch.

However, since that crybaby in San Francisco started kneeling, I haven't attended any games, and I've pretty much tuned out of the NFL and tried spending more time with the wife (who hates the Falcons). I suppose I made a decision that I don't need the Falcons any more. My eyes have been opened...In the end, the Falcons are just a three hour entertainment venue. They've made lots of money off me and what do I get in return? notta, zilch, zero. Finally I've said NOPE, No More.

Maybe I'll watch the Super Bowl, maybe I won't, but one thing's for sure, I won't EVER go to another Falcons Game.

I got to feeling the same way about two years before the "Kneelers" came along. The rules changes for "safety", indoor stadiums and Astroturf even in outdoor stadiums, pretty much turned it into a Soap Opera in four acts. I hated it when the high priced running back ran out of bounds to avoid the hit, rather turning it up to gain 2 yards. At that point the writing was on the wall and my interest dropped more and more. If these teams had to go back and play by the 1956 rules, and in those stadiums, they would score very few points,,, mostly by the kickers!!!

I've never cared much for pro football, it's really just a business. I liked college football for many years, but it's almost as bad as pro now.

The best football is high school. It's more the real deal.

I've pretty much given up on the NFL.
If a game is on, I'll take a look, but buy a ticket? no way.

It's okay, it's really make Sunday afternoons a lot more free and relaxing.
My wife is a die-hard Vikings Fan (Bless Her Heart), so I'll follow them when she's watching.

Let's be honest; there's only two real sports.

1. College Football
2. Spring Game College Football

You misspelled baseball and NASCAR.

True story.... I was working a lil' part-time gig at our local high school and got to know the lady in charge of attendance.

It was sport jersey day at the school and everyone was supposed to wear the jersey of their favorite sports team.

Jennifer was wearing a Falcons jersey.

I put two & two together when I learned that her maiden name was 'Blank' and at the time when I was living in Sandy Springs, she was living with her uncle deep in the heart of Buckhead / Tuxedo Park off of West Paces Ferry Road, near the Gov's Mansion.

yeah..... that Mr. Blank

btw - super cool lady
