Stop the presses...Student Bitten Twice by a Mosquito

Far West

I LOVE being home again. I live in one of the most beautiful cities. I work 2 miles from the beach, in the community I grew up in. I have an amazing place to live, and short commute. But I cringe at all the stupid news... including OMG a person was bitten 2 times by a mosquito... and it made the news.

I don't miss being bitten by bugs. It is rare to have bites. The city of San Diego does routine mosquito-fighting, aerial larvicide drops on more than 30 rivers, streams, ponds and other waterways to kill mosquito larvae.

Homelessness, illegals, the power company turning off electricity due to high seasonal winds because they have not done the proper upgrade on the lines because of cost, high energy no one can afford.... and the news covers 2 students who had a mosquito bite:
10News was sent two pictures, one of a student, with special needs, whose calf was bitten by a mosquito, and another of a dead mosquito. It appears to be black with white spots or stripes.

"It was really bad and it was burning and everything," Junior Arryonna said. She was bitten in art class Thursday.

"I feel like my ankle starts itching so I'm like what's on my ankle, so I look and I got two bumps on the side of my ankle," she said reaching down to scratch. She said she's allergic, making the bites that much worse.

The school district says the first report of a mosquito bite came mid-September, around the first time Aryonna said she was bit. Pest Control came out twice and deployed an organic compound in the drain to kill mosquito larvae.

The County was scheduled to come out next week, but after 10News called, they showed up Friday afternoon, according to the district.

I just heard 98% of the 2 million people who they shut the power off, will have it restored today. The winds died down. :ninja:

The leaders in this state are a joke and the people who vote for them are so brainwashed they believe in the progressive dogma, even as their life gets worse. Yeah...it's all Trump's fault... and the fact no one is taxed enough!

There is a conservative base here... but no one admits it for fear of what would happen to you... so the true numbers are not known. It would be wonderful if all conservatives actually showed up and voted.

I'm so anti-CA I can't even begin to accurately describe my disgust. Some of the most beautiful land in the country but the elected officials continue to degrade any incentive to enjoy it. Then the rest of the country follows their "warped" and liberal lead.

Stay strong out there, help spread conservative views.

I imagine that rates are regulated in CA, I can’t see them NOT controlling the price. If that’s the case, if the government won’t give the companies money to do upgrades AND their laws make the company liable for all fires no matter what caused the sparks to be released, then the government can only point to themselves as the root cause. Give them protection from weather based issues or give them money to upgrade the system or prepare for more blackouts. I don’t blame the company a bit it protects them from fire losses and put pressure on the government to fix the problem.

California mandates that regulated electric utilities prioritize investment in renewables over other expenses. Maintenance failures cause wildfires when wind storms knock down decades old infrastructure.

California now mandates power be shut off in wind storms causing people to run inefficient and dangerous gasoline generators which can cause CO poisoning and can start fires. Medical device dependent residents are put in grave peril.

California mandates that a certain percentage of each auto manufacturer's sales be electric. Electric cars are unusable during sustained power outages.

California blames "greedy CEO's and stockholders" for the predicament.

Yep... the citizens of this state, who do not work, just get more and more bogged down in regulating how you can live and don't understand that living in socialism necessarily means life is worse. Professional protesters who live off the system and take more and more away.

On the news today CA fur ban. (Remember SFO, LA have 3rd world diseases reocurring from so many living on the street, in cars, and tents.) The best the socialist Governor Gavin Newsom (former mayor of SFO, the city you get shit on your shoes from homeless excrement,) can do for the people of California is ban fur... really? No one wears fur here anyway... it's too hot... but ooooooh his people love him..... standing up for the feelings of animals....wow.

California to become the first state to ban the sale and manufacture of fur

California will be the first state to ban the sale and manufacture of new fur products and the third to bar most animals from circus performances under a pair of bills signed Saturday by Gov. Gavin Newsom.

The fur law bars residents from selling or making clothing, shoes or handbags with fur starting in 2023.

Animal rights groups cheered the measure as a stand against inhumane practices. The proposal was vigorously opposed by the billion-dollar U.S. fur industry, and the Fur Information Council of America has already threatened to sue.

“California is a leader when it comes to animal welfare, and today that leadership includes banning the sale of fur,” Newsom said in a statement. “But we are doing more than that. We are making a statement to the world that beautiful wild animals like bears and tigers have no place on trapeze wires or jumping through flames.”

Too bad Newsome and the progressives can't see what they have done to the welfare of the people who live and work in the state.

I can't even list all the ways the progressives have ruined San Diego. The city I left 20 years ago is not recognizable.

I'm just saving my cash waiting for the market to crash again so I can purchase a house. I don't have to worry about kids and the education they would not get here... so I live my best life and try to ignore the idiot noise of the progressives.

What do you imagine the non-working progressives will say when the socialists make the jump to communism,,, and they are given a job to do????

That would be the best outcome... all those on the system made to do the jobs they are qualified to work.

Guard dad says they are looking for those who can be trained to say would you like fries with that?

In reality in communism those of us who have skills and understand the corruption of communism are the threat, and we end up in Siberia.
