Biden's planned Stimulus Plan

The Sound Guy

Pursuit Driver
Anyone taken a good look at what's in the Stimulus Plan? Holy Carp! It's going to destroy small business.

It will:

Require 14 weeks paid leave for people dealing with closed schools or care centers, removing the exemption for for big and small employers!!

Require a $1400 Leave Benefit for eligible worker. (Not a lot of detail on this one)

Federal minimum wage increase to $15 an hour!

It ends the tipped minimum wage ! (Get ready for fewer servers and Expensive meals!)

It ends the subminimum wage for people with disabilities! (So much for the man with mental disabilities that bagged my groceries at Kroger the other day - No way they pay him $15.00 a hour)

I foresee unemployment jumping a BUNCH when this goes through. And a bunch of bankruptcy's and business closures for small business that can't afford this crap in the middle of a pandemic.

it means that all good and services will be far more expensive and the staffing of low income workers will decrease.

unemployment will rise for the people who need employment the most - goodbye middle class

I'm just happy that I'm hanging out with y'all one-percenters.

Dude, I'm poor!

With the new $15 minimum wage, we won't be able to eat at MickyD's anymore,,, The cost of a McRib meal will be $21.50!!!!
Bye Bye MickyD.:(:(:(

Jan 1 Kalifornia required a $14.00 Minimum wage. Last year it went to $13.

I just finished payroll. I increased the wages up to $14 where it was not yet there. My owner said to increase the ones already over $14 by fifty cents.

What I have witnessed is the people who had worked 15 or 20 years for their wages to be at 16 dollars now are paid almost the same as a worker we have had for a little over one year.

The merritt raises workers had been given now have made little difference to their pay. It will feel good having that $2.00 raise in less that a 12 month period, but things will just cost more. Now almost all our employees are making the same amount of money... even though some have decades of experience and some literally less than 2 years.

Ever since minimum wage was created, the Democratic Party said increases in it would decrease poverty and increase the middle-class. That has never happened.

In 2019, the average weighted poverty threshold for a family of four was $26,172. In 1965, it was $3,223 ($26,651 in today's dollars). Not much difference is there? The minimum wage has been increased 16 times since 1965. Doesn't look like it did as the Democrats promised.

Total ignorance of economics. It will gut small business. An increase that large to the minimum wage will encourage people to stay the status quo and be as happy as a pig in slop to stay at entry level jobs for years without striving to better themselves. Minimum wage is for entry level jobs that hopefully a person rises above after say one year. It is not designed for people who work 20 years at the same job level. You also cannot pay employees 14 weeks paid leave to deal with family matters without making up that money somewhere. Consumer goods and services will have large price increases driving up inflation and zeroing out any gains brought on by a wage increase. These people are buying votes on the back of the working man and the working man is too damn complacent to realize it and call them out.

P.S.- Sound Guy does this gentleman work at the Kroger on Nebo?

This gentlemen was as Crossroads Kroger.

I guess if the tipped minimum wage goes way, we won't need to tip anymore? Or it goes back to tipping only for exceptional service and not a straight percentage. People are NOT going to want to eat out much at what the pricing is going to be.

And you don't want to know what grocery prices are going to do. My son has been working there for 9 years and doesn't make $15 an hour.

When the minimum wage goes up,every thing will go up. Can you say
“INFLATION” three times real fast. No real gain for minimum wage earners or any one else.
The Democrats really know wages increase in a healthy, job creating economy. They also know when people are financially capable of taking care of their own needs, those people don't need the government; therefor they don't need the Democrats. In a nutshell that is why Democrats like recessions.

Yeah, I really am beginning to believe this is a conspiracy to crash the economy to bring in socialism. They can't possibly be *that* stupid, can they?

<pouting> You didn't have to ask it twice.

:)

<sigh> Yeah we are seeing the result of liberals owning the colleges for 40 years because those who understand the real world go out and make real money. The professors sit around jealous of them.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Those who can't teach, administrate. Liberals to a "T".

My daughter and SIL were talking about his working his but off for 10 years to get over $20/hr, and all these hamburger flippers will make $15/hr. But he's not getting any raise to offset that, so they're actually loosing ground to the cost of living increase,,, as is everyone else. Everyone but the hamburger flipper will suffer!!

Even the hamburger flipper will suffer when they still can't afford their rent due to the landlord raising it to offset the cost of living.

How soon will we be seeing the rise of homelessness again?

I am assuming that Burger Flippers live with their parents,,, but that is a good point.
