Braves 2022

Hopefully the Padres can win it.
This town is so happy right now.

They haven't advanced to the NL Championship Series while playing at this field.

It would be fun for the city if they pull this off tonight, but I think they are a bit of an underdog...

Jansen took years off my life. While he was not horrible he was not consistent and is not the pitcher he was 5 years ago. I don't think the Braves are going to sign Dansby. That is a bummer he is one of my favorites. He is in the same boat as Freddie he could stay if he wants to but money/perks are a tempting mistress.

Yeah, given what some of the other players are getting in new contracts so far this offseason, I doubt Dansby will be back with the Braves. And I'm not sure he's worth what he'll end up getting.

I really like Dansby Swanson, but that young kid Grissom along with Arcia are great as well and are much more affordable. They don't have as many home runs, but defensively, both are impressive. The Braves have plenty of money, but are they willing to spend it to keep Dansby?

I think Dansby was good for the locker room and fan base but money talks. This ranks his deal around 8th in the league among short stops. Do you think he is a top 8 short stop? I do based on last season. If he has as good or better seasons as he had last year he is worth the money in today's market. "If" is a big two letter word though he has struggled some in the past. If he digresses then no he is not worth the money. He is a local boy and a very good player I wish they had kept him. That is typical of today's pro sports that produce very few long term "faces" of the franchise. I guess I will hook the wagon to Riley/Harris next season. JMO

I have noticed over the last 60 years that pros usually have phenomenal numbers in the last year of their contract or lately, their free agent year, then once they get the money they want the majority fall into mediocrity until it's time to re negotiate. I can't get into the new mode of cheering for someone that you booed last year, because now that they play for the home team. Al Kaline was drafted by the Tigers right out of high school, and he played for the Tigers until his retirement I believe, then went into their broadcast booth,,, that just doesn't happen anymore.
