California Can't Celebrate Independence Day?

So the dem officials pretty much cancelled all the fireworks, took away the beaches, and wagged their fingers at us having family backyard barbecues...

Comments below:
This was incredible. That's what happens when government locks you down, then tells you we can't celebrate Independence day. In grand fashion we raise the middle finger

Governor: NO more fireworks!
Everyone else: NO More fireworks!

California government: You can't do that, it's illegal to celebrate this country!
Californians: Watch us.

LOL!

It was Awe inspiring on the 4th in North Paulding. Had some local booms from the neighborhood, but from the East was a continuous rolling thunder of detonations. It went on for over an hour after it got dark. My kids had friends that posted their $500+ collections ready to go off and I believe it.

An amazing amount of money went up in smoke this weekend!

The fireworks around here were OK for the first hour. By the third hour after 11PM, they were getting old.

Newsome is a fool.

Fireworks are generally banned in California due to the fire danger, that is why the Los Angeles fireworks were so amazing. Paulding County residence always have wonderful fireworks in the neighborhoods... we could always count on two specific groups of neighbors who would spend waaaaayyyy tooo much trying to outdo each other's displays. The kids loved it because unlike the city shows, it would go on for hours.

In California usually few people have them because there are so many free venues to watch fireworks. and there are fines and jail time if caught with them.

Since Newsome is still punishing the state because cases of covid are on the rise... even though deaths are about the same... the cities cancelled most all of them to keep people from gathering.

Ironically in the cities that are run by republicans, they had fireworks... we had 5 cities in San Diego County that had a show, and people sat in their car, front lawn, or social distanced and watched. Usually all the beach cities have fireworks out in the water off barges, and in San Diego Bay. Those were all cancelled. The inland cities hold them at the high schools and 5 cities continued this year

Where my mom lives, they had two fireworks displays. My mom and a neighbor drove to the top of one of the areas up high where there are industrial parks and sat in the car looking down on the beautiful city provided fireworks

But the city still took things up a notch with larger fireworks that traveled nearly 400 feet in the air.
<snip>
About half of the city was able to see fireworks from the comfort of their front lawn, Poway Mayor Steve Vaus said. The city also opened its parks to give residents another viewpoint of the shows.

This year’s displays took off from two different locations: Poway High School and at the Sportsplex in the Poway Business Park. Both were set off simultaneously.
