Cell phone review

A buddy from the gym who works for LG gave me an LG Quantum about a month ago. I gotta say, I'm really happy with it. Windows Mobile 7, 1 gig processor so it's very fast, slide out keyboard, lots of cool stuff in it. And 16 gig internal memory, so it'll hold lots of media. The phone has not frozen or locked up one time. AT&T is the carrier.

The only disappointment is that on Windows 7 phones, they took away the ability to sync via cable with Outlook. It can be done through Windows Live, but I haven't figured it out yet. Rumor is that they might add the feature back at some point via update.

All-in-all...Guard Dad recommended.

I had been waiting for Verizon to get the I-Phone for a while, but am having serious second thoughts. I've been VERY happy with my droid and now they have screens as large and flat as the I-Phone. But one of the main reasons I'll probably stay with the droid for my next phone is because of the link to gmail. When you mentioned that yours didn't sync with Outlook, it reminded me that, unless I am mistaken, the I-Phone will not adopt the gmail platform.

Gmail comes set for imap. But it can be changed to pop. I don't particularly like the imap system because I want my mail to go to both my phone and my computer, and that kind of screws with imap. So I set it to pop. I had to trick the phone set-up though. When you enter a gmail addy it automatically sets up for imap. So I set it up with a different pop account, and then edited the account to my gmail addy. Works much better this way.

My son has an LG Optimus. That phone is awesome and the battery life is GREAT! I have the HTC EVO and it's an awesome phone, more like a mini-tablet, but the battery life is BAD! Both of ours are droids.

I can manage my main email, gmail and office email from the main screen of my phone.

Most smart phones have crappy battery life. Just too much going on and it's constantly sucking on the battery.
