Christmas report...

We are home, safe and sound. The girls that stayed here were thrilled when we got home. I've never seen happier dogs. My Son and family live on Lake Eufalua. Eastern time pings in his front yard, Central time pings in the back yard. We were always trying to figure out what time it was. We were invited to a fish fry our first night. Tons of oysters, of course. The Chief was thrilled, to say the least. Very nice people in his boat club.
My 11 year old Grand Daughter mentioned she wanted a sewing machine, which was news to us. The Chief and my Daughter in Law went shopping, just to go. She called and said she found one, so I told her to get it. There went the budget but my Grand Daughter thought it was the greatest thing she had ever received, so it was worth it.
Christmas Day, the Founder/Owner of the Chief's Law Firm called her. The Chief is a principle officer in the firm. 2011 was their first full year as a firm. He told her that since it had been such a great year, he had decided to issue bonus checks this week to all the employees.
My Brother and his Wife, who live in Albany, came over to visit. When they got there, he came in with a case of beer. We visited for several hours, telling stories and laughing, I realized we had been drinking coffee all night. Not a single beer was cracked open and I can remember a time when we would have been wasted. It was kind of nice to know we have finally grown up.
My Son got up yesterday and said "I think I'll put up the Christmas decorations". He does this every year, so I have noticed a pattern. An hour and a half later, his house is back in order. Nothing like having Dad and his Stepmother helping clear the house. Pretty smart kid I have there.
It was an awesome Christmas trip. I'm glad to be home. I need the rest.

What a great time you had! That's a marvelous story about the sewing machine for granddaughter. I still remember things I made (that I'm sure looked hideous, but I was so proud of them) when I was her age. Yes, our babies are always sooooo happy to see us when we get back home. In the case of cats, however, sometimes it's more like a disdainful sniff and a "Oh, were you gone somewhere? I didn't notice." attitude. :D

Sounds like it was a wonderful Christmas. One thing is missing though.........who won the family Christmas football game?

No football this year, since we were at the Lake. To many trees and no level ground. So we played a serious game of combat hide and seek. I figured out I'm getting older. Liesl and Dixie just stayed inside asleep. It's happening to the whole family.
