Covid is right here, and it's getting bad fast.

Mrs. LTD called in an order to the local Mexican place and went to pick it up. She said she overheard a woman on the phone. The woman had a bad cough and she wasn't wearing a mask. Mrs. LTD was about 20 feet away with an N95 on. We were given a few in the hospital since I had chemo.

The woman started out by saying she just knew she had the "Rona" back last summer and it wasn't anything. She wasn't going to that place in Alpharetta where Daryl (husband, boyfriend?) got tested last week because they told him he had it and he had to take a week off from work even though he just has a cold.

Later she said that Daryl's grandmother was up in Chattanooga in the hospital and "they" said she had it even though grandma didn't go anywhere and she and Daryl brought her all her groceries.

Mrs. LTD. washed her entire body in hand sanitizer when she got back in the car.

This lady is stupid as hell. The owner/manager should send her home and tell not to come back until she has a test that says she's negative.

She was a customer, but yeah, I would have probably asked her to leave.
When it comes to the safety of others in this pandemic; I wear a mask in all businesses. So many people have it in their heads that if they aren't showing symptoms of the virus, they don't have it and therefor refuse to wear a mask when they are in businesses. So many businesses have signs on their doors saying a mask is required to enter, but they don't enforce it because they don't want to lose business. Then why bother putting the sign up?

After sushi tonight we walked down to Kroger to get milk. Of course I get to the door only to realize I forgot my mask. Nope, I didn’t do the walk of shame back to the truck but was prepared to be asked to leave the store. Fortunately nobody seemed to be bothered or concerned about it. It was after 8:30pm so there were not many people inside and I stayed way back away from people. I did feel bad and it wasn’t intentional. In all honestly I felt like a rebel.

They were staying away from you because of the sushi.

I carry a backup cloth mask in my back pocket to avoid the walk of shame.

It's getting hard to remain optimistic that we will ever see a return to normal...

:(
I'm getting the same feeling the way goobermint just mandates it, and the fact that big Asian cities have been wearing masks in public, mostly for the smog problems, for years. If you put all that together and turn the PC police loose, (remember, it's for the children), and you wind up with some crazy justification to Lord over us with mask requirements. Not looking forward to this.
:tapfoot2:

Our California restaurants were allowed to open again for seated dining- only 25%, but our dufus Governor, Newsom, was only allowing take out, no seated dining inside or outside from November until last Monday.

... however one of our guests was telling me on Saturday that he ate at a restaurant -INSIDE... he said the same thing as you.

How crazy is it that sitting at a restaurant and eating is seen as a defiant act!

The ship has sunk.

My oldest granddaughter is a senior in high school in Michigan and have been doing the virtual school. She's bummed because she's missing so much in her last year of high school that she should have been experiencing. No homecoming or prom, other school dances and activities.

The Kiddo is in her last year of elementary school, and all of the special activities are gone.

No festivals or events, no chorus, no class parties, no special ceremonies, no Valentines...

We are robbing them of their childhood !!!

My roommate, who is back from a temporary job in the Bay Area, told me the shot may only give 3 months immunity.

She quoted a woman in the Bay area, a doctor, who has been testing her blood every two weeks and is watching the immunity reduce. The woman has been vaccinated 3 months apparently.

I told her that I had heard the trials and follow up had shown at least 8 months, so I wondered how it was now 3 months? I thought it was at a DNA level of immunity with the pfizer and moderna, not just a blood T cell.

However when I looked up information I found this:
It is not yet known how long the vaccine affords protection against disease or whether the vaccine can prevent infection or keep someone from transmitting the virus to others.

I had heard having covid only gave you 3 months of total immunity (to that strain) and then reduced affect if you get it again up to a year (with less effect the longer it lasts) Sounds Legit to me.

My daughter just got tested for antibodies and was positive for some time in the last 4-6 months, (figures she had a mild case at Christmas). Our neighbors son has had it twice now about 8 months apart. He works at UPS, so make sure you spray all packages that come to your house!
