DeSantis 2024.....now 2028?

This begs the question, why does he not want his people in his country? The only reasonable answer is that at least some of them must be "undesirable".
It's a third-world country without enough jobs for people. Those millions who have illegally crossed our borders send billions of dollars back to their families, which helps the Mexican economy. Taking the jobs away from the illegals in the US to force them back to Mexico and prevent people from illegally crossing the border into our country takes that money away from their economy.

Mexico's president is telling Hispanics in the US not to vote for DeSantis. He doesn't want his people or immigrants passing through is country to get to ours being stuck in his. The more of his people who come to the US, the more money his government saves to go into crooked politicians' pockets.

They know DeSantis will do the America First, like Trump did. Mexico did not like that.

Mexico is the first country of "prosperity" that those fleeing their government from various South American countries end up. The rules that Trump enforced were that they have to ask for asylum in the first country. If they get to Mexico, then spend 3 months walking through Mexico to get to the USA, they can be denied USA entry. Then Mexico is responsible for them because they did not stop them at their southern border

Migrants are a burden, every one knows it.

No skills, no education, sick, pregnant or single 18 to 23 year old males who are mostly just bad dudes no country wants or needs.

the United States’ discussion of a “first-entry” agreement with Mexico, and possibly the Northern Triangle countries, could replicate Dublin III’s failures by offloading historic levels of asylum-seeking migrants to countries with few resources to process them. In Mexico’s case, the country already has struggled to process a historic influx of asylum applications that has strained its resources, and has sought assistance from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The situation is more dire in the three Northern Triangle countries, which have even fewer resources than the Mexican government to process and resettle large numbers of asylum seekers from the region. Without a burden sharing mechanism that assesses a country’s ability to receive migrants, a straightforward “first-entry” agreement would likely result in continued migration outside of these regulated channels and undermine the region’s ability to effectively manage the crisis.

As we have written, we believe that the Central American migration crisis requires a genuine regional response where every country in the region contributes to managing these migrant flows. Rather than pursuing an equitable agreement to address this challenge, the Trump administration has used economic threats and cuts to foreign assistance to force these countries to potentially accede to a “first-entry” agreement that would duplicate the logistical failures of the European model.

Key phrase is “measure from Congress” which sounds nice but is no better than promising “reparations” if elected. It will never happen.
If the Republicans win the WH, widen their majority in the House, and gain a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate; why not?

Because they are not much better than the liberals?
I think conservative voters are getting tired of a lot of things. Look at Disney, Bud Light, and Target losing money because of conservative boycotts. I think conservative voters have had enough of the Republican Party treating its base no differently than the Dems do theirs - lie after lie after lie. I think you're going to start seeing conservative voters holding elected Republicans' feet to the fire a lot more.

One would hope, but they should have pushed back long ago. What does it take to get people to fight back these days?

DeSantis showed he has class here. On the other hand, Trump thought it best to send out a message on his Truth Social to politicize a day where we remember and honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedoms.
