Did Twitter go too far?

Twitter locked the personal account of White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany for tweeting, "**NEW** Email from Ukrainian executive to Hunter Biden asks Hunter to 'use his influence' on behalf of the firm paying him $50K/mo in email with subject 'urgent issue' obtained by @nypost Father @JoeBiden was in charge of Ukraine relations at time.!!”

Then it locked the Trump campaign account for tweeting, “Joe Biden is a liar who has been ripping off our country for years.”

It's obvious Joe Biden is a liar. Why did he while VPOTUS, take his son Hunter with him on Air Force Two to China; a trip Hunter received a $1.5 billion business deal? Why was it such a big deal for him to threaten he would not allow Ukraine to receive the money Congress had authorized unless the country's government fired the special prosecutor investigating the company his son was a member of the board of directors? VP Biden was put in charge of Ukraine policy by Obama, so why didn't he think it a conflict of interest when his son became a member of the board for that Ukrainian country? He's lying when he said there was no conflict of interest; especially when the State Department saw it as one.

Joe Biden has been lying to us about these important issues all along.

Not only did they go too far, but the media is saying see, it's no big deal, Twitter had to remove the information... alluding that it must be false since Twitter removed it... so corrupt.

Marxists are full of glee all over Amerika that they have won in the court of public persuasion and disinformation.

The veil of neutrality has been lifted. They are all in for Biden and don't care what we think. Biden's supporters are actually happy. They are happy not to know for sure that they are electing another self actor who will proudly sell them out for another rock of crack for the boy.

I saw someone say that the Senate is about to indict the twitter guy.

I really do not want to see social media regulated, but man, they are begging for it!

Want to change it, offer conservative based competition. Offer the same platform options and people who are fed up with the nonsense will flock to it.

Here’s another thought too: What’s worse, censorship or fake news? Too little info (or selected info) or being bombarded with anything anyone wants to put on social media. Pick your poison.

They are infringing upon freedom of speech. Can the phone company listen in and bleep out comments they don't like?

Ah, but telephone is a public service and has special rules because of it. They keep claiming they can't stop the robo calls because of that special status.

As I understand the Constitution, free speech only applies to individuals, it does not not mean that a private business has to cater to you to promote your speech. Try going to channel 11 and say you want your speech on TV on Tuesday night. They will laugh you out of the building (unless you have the cash to purchase the time.)

I believe that there are equal access rules for political ads, but that's TV/Radio only since the airwaves are controlled by the Govt and they are are not allowed to show favor. (I know, try not to laugh too hard). I don't think that Tweeter and Farcebook have been declared public services yet.

Its' one of the areas that Govt and the internet have not managed to shake down yet.

The federal government has gone out of their way to make the internet free and to large extent, protect it from liability. As a general rule, this is good and was the right thing to do.

There's an old saying..."With great power comes great responsibility". Twitter and Facebook has not been responsible, and now they are inviting the government to rethink their "free internet" stance. While I would rather the internet stay free and largely unregulated, people not playing fair is causing major problems.

Most of the big tech companies are liberal but I don't like the govt getting involved with more rules and regulations. They will just screw it up like they always do. Let the free market decide. There are Twitter alternatives already available.

Just think how much revenue they could lose if Trump would move his tweets to an alternative service. Trump complains about the service at the same time as he gives it huge revenue every time he tweets.

Facebook ‘Content Regulation Manager’ Anna Makanju Advised Joe Biden on Ukraine

It just gets worse:

Other U.S. agencies also fund the organization. The U.S. State Department, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the U.S. embassies of Belgium, France, and the U.S. missions to NATO and the European Union are all listed as donors.

Other notable donors — Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, Microsoft, Google, Bank of America, JP Morgan, ExxonMobil, and the Open Society Foundations, the infamous funding network founded by George Soros.

In other words, numerous U.S. federal agencies are funding an organization that is a) backed by George Soros, b) backed by Big Tech, and c) is promoting the suppression of conservative media on the internet.

Notably, Facebook — the primary target of GMF’s critique — is a big tech company that is not on its list of donors.
