Dr Seuss’s stepdaughter says he didn’t have ‘a racist bone’ in his body after books removed

HIs step-daughter sounds like a woke person. Although she said Dr. Suess didn't have a racist bone in his body, she is glad they removed the books for sale saying, “I think in this day and age it’s a wise decision. I think this is a world that right now is in pain, and we’ve all got to be very gentle and thoughtful and kind with each other. This is just very difficult, painful times that we live in. We’re taking that into account and being thoughtful. We don’t want to upset anybody.”

"We don't want to upset anybody." News flash, no matter what someone does, there is going to be someone else who finds it offensive. Look at how people mocked Tim Tebow because he would kneel in give thanks to God. Look at how people went after Ted Cruz for taking his family to Mexico. Heck, I would have done the same thing and so would many of those who complained if the truth be told. Trump's economic policies took unemployment levels for blacks and Hispanics to the lowest levels in history, but look at how the left treated him for that. There's a lot of examples of how people on the left get all butt hurt over good things.
 
I don't mind the discussion of how norms have changed over the last century. I don't mind discussing perhaps modifying some of the illustrations in these particular books because they are aimed at young children without critical thinking skills. I do mind the wholesale cleansing of history to make it fit today's sensibilities. To this day not one person has been able to tell me who benefits from that. You cannot understand how far we have come if you don't know where we have been. This is why, with few exceptions, they are now seeking out or redefining racism instead of living it.
 
It's like I tried to tell my BLM friend; if you really want to fight racism, you need to change hearts, and only love will do that. Dr. King knew this.

Creating micro-battles and spreading hate all the time is only gonna make things worse.

All this cancel culture stuff is coming from the people trying to destroy this country. Taking down statues or children's books will not end racism, but it will divide the people and make us weaker.

We should counter the cancel culture people by canceling them every chance we get. Like when they tried to cancel Goya because their CEO endorsed Trump. Sales for Goya the next day skyrocketed. Eliminating six Dr. Suess books led to skyrocketing sales the next day. Both those things are telling the cancel culture to f off.
