Finally, got most of the garden planted

Rolling down the highway
Mother nature has challenged us this spring. Finally finished planting most of the garden (still have melons to go). 68 Tomato plants, 18 peppers, 40 cukes (what were we thinking??) 6 patty pan squash, 6 yellow squash and 6 zucchini. If all goes well, we might open a veggie stand. LOL

Yummy! My boys planted a very small garden in the back yard. I can't wait until we can eat some fresh veggies (if the deer don't eat them first this year!)

I guess I'll be purchasing a few plants. Never got my seeds started. :(

I have several pepper plants and lots of Rutgers tomatoes left, do you want some?? Oh, don't bother planting cukes, I'll have enough for the entire Highway. :whistle

Hopefully we will have a garden next year. And hummingbirds.

This year we will be buying veggies at the store. Or, I'm hoping we can find a fresh market nearby?

That's a lot of planting!! We focused on the bushes in the front and fruit trees in the back, so the veggies got put off this year.

Just finished planting our first real veggie garden here,
we had to build raised beds because we have a major
rock vein running right through the middle of our yard :

24 Tomato plants (Beefsteak & Italian Roma)
24 Onions (Spanish & Sweet Georgia)
12 Yellow Squash & Zucchini
10 Jalapenos

Transplanted mature strawberry and
raspberry plants into fertile new home.

I also have 20 (2nd crop) tomato plants and two flats of
annual flowers sprouting in the sunny guest bedroom....

Gonna make a bunch of yummy salsa this summer... :love

I purchase. Yes, this goes on the list of what I can not do. Can not grow things, can not sing, can not write, can not sew..lol, it's a wonder you all let me stick around. :laugh

Yes! I've never had Rutgers tomatoes, what are they? Of course all that really matters is if I can make a good tomato sandwich and several batches of fried green tomatoes! :))
