Flu Shot

I got my flu shot earlier in the week and have felt lousy for about three days now... sniffles, headache, sore throat, etc...

My wife thinks I'm a big ol' baby when I'm sick. This stinks.

Same here, problem is when you get sick with flu symptoms, it's a covid test before you get in the Dr's office, even if it is from a flu shot. My daughter and SIL spent the better part of the day trying to get a covid test because they were close to someone that has it. Both tested negative! By the by, Pine Valley Baptist is shut down until Nov 29th,,, the Pastor and his family have it among others. This is the second time they have shut down.

After I was out of the Army I vowed to never get “preventative” shots again.

I haven't gotten a flu shot since retiring from the Army. Every time I got one; I got sick. I do get the pneumonia shot every year though. I haven't had any problems with that one. I remember when they came out with the nasal spray for the flu vaccine. Everyone younger than 45 had to get that. Those over 45 the shot. Quite a few of those who got the nasal spray were puking their guts up. They said it it went down their throats and was the nastiest tasting stuff they ever had.

Got mine early October never knew I had gotten one. Now required to work at the health facilities that are my clients. Did not start getting them until about five years ago. No big deal.

My morning consists of hot coffee, plenty of peppermints followed by ice cold ginger ale... hopefully I'll be up and about by tomorrow. Oh and Ramen Noodles too...those things are a lifesaver for sure.

Well, I went with my daughter in law to get a covid test so she could fly to Hawaii without doing the 14 day quarantine. They had "free" flu shots too through our mutual insurance provider. Since I am around my 83 year old mother, I have been getting flu shots... so I got one Wednesday. Arm was sore, today is all better, no other side effects.

I doubt the shot will mesh with the flu that may or may not break out this year, but I do think it give immunity toward one that may match in the future.

I have not had the flu since 2000 or 2003, can't remember... but I really can't afford for my mom to get it, or to miss work. She got her shot a while back.

Just thought I would say, no side effects... all that hair growing on my back is a little odd though!

I wonder if she wears a flea collar???

Just got my Flu shot and Pneumonia shot, one in each arm. The Pneumonia shot was kinda like taking a good fastball in the upper arm,,, and I admit I flinched a little. Now lets see how sick I get in the next five days. :faint:
