Those are so cute, Madea! I am going to try those headbands. One of these days I will remember to take a picture of those hats I have been making.

JoAnn had some SUPER soft baby material on sale 50% off. I have been seeing a lot of baby blankets made out of thise stuff for $20+. Well, I got a yard of it for $6.29 and now I just need to find some binder. I forgot while at JoAnn and it looks like I will have to go back. :(

Anyway, I also got a blue whale patch to put on it. I watched a tutorial on how to do this, and it looks pretty easy, LOL We shall see. Hopefully, I will have a really nice blanket for less than $10.

Awesome, you are on a roll!
Your websites inspire me! LOL

And I can't spend a lot of time on my feet, moving around anymore. I have a hard time sitting still, so these little projects have kept me busy. My shopping trip on Saturday is still killing my feetsies.

Madea, the binding was not easy. :( LOL

I sewed the blanket Saturday, and it turned out great. I did the binding on it yesterday, and not so great. It was so frustrating.

I was doing so good at first, then got over confident and went too fast. The stiching is good on one side, the others, eh. Anyway, it is the corners that had me in tears. I watched a tutorial on how to do this several times and it looked so easy when she did it.

Do you have any tips?

Which one are you doing? (Sorry, I missed this earlier. :( )

That's okay! It's not one posted on here, or on any of those sites. I found some material I liked and then Googled "How to sew a baby blanket" lol. I watched a tutorial on it. The blanket came out great - I just did a zig-zag stitch around the edges (pretty straight, too, right at the edge) with right sides facing. I left about a 3/4" opening to turn it right side out.

I tucked the edges in the opening, right in line with the seam, then I pinned the binding around the edges. The corners were great while pinned, it was when I sewed they got all messed up.

Actually sewing the binding on was harder than I thought. It was slippery, lol. Is this something that will just have to come with practice?

Sounds like you were doing good. Binding can be tricky, but you'll get it with practice. I haven't used it in a while. There are some great tutorials on binding. Try the sewwhatsnew site.

Thanks, Madea. I will try taht site for a tutorial and try again. The material might be on sale again, and if it is then I think I will get some more and do it again.
