There are currently 71 counties in Georgia with State Courts.
State Courts are the highest level of county-supported trial court in the State’s judicial branch of government.
State Courts have jurisdiction over criminal and traffic misdemeanor cases. They also have jurisdiction over civil cases except those in which exclusive jurisdiction is vested in the Superior Courts.
Over 76 % of Georgians are served by State Courts, according to the Georgia Council of State Court Judges.
