  • There are currently 71 counties in Georgia with State Courts.
  • State Courts are the highest level of county-supported trial court in the State’s judicial branch of government.
  • State Courts have jurisdiction over criminal and traffic misdemeanor cases. They also have jurisdiction over civil cases except those in which exclusive jurisdiction is vested in the Superior Courts.
