Georgia voting shattering turnout records...

...after MSNBC, CNN, and others ran with 'Jim Crow' accusations. It will be interesting to see what the demographics in the voting are because Abrams and the crew will accuse Republicans of cheating in a primary.

I voted two weeks ago. It will be interesting to see the results involving a large electorate. Do not underestimate the Dem crossover votes to influence the GOP primaries. It could result in high cost run offs that under a straight partisan ticket would not be necessary. Just because the GOP turn out is large does not mean the voter is actually GOP. I do not like non-partisan primaries.

Arrived at the poll at 6:59am this morning, there was one person in front of us. We departed at 7:15am and say maybe 10 people...at most.

Will be headed to the polls at lunch. Usually early vote, but didn't manage to find a sample ballot for our polling place until last night. (Raffensperger almost lost my vote over that.... it was so easy to find on the old voter page, this one, it's hidden at the bottom of the page.) Spent several hours going over websites and flyers to pick my choices. Wow, was not impressed with several of the GOP candidates.

I'm still hung up over voter fraud / malfunctioning voter terminals. Case in point, there were only 5 polling terminals available at our precinct this morning. As I was waiting for in line I noticed the technician opening the back of one of the terminals, he was fidgeting around with wires and stuff then finally one of the polling workers walked over to take a look. After about 5 minutes they close the back of it then walked away. Guess which terminal I was instructed to vote from? Yep, you guessed it, that one. Hopefully I'm just overthinking it and just being paranoid but I have little confidence that polling irregularities have been properly addressed.

It was interesting that the couple in front of me had a absentee ballot from their mother and the poll workers told her they are NOT allowed to touch it, she had to take it to courthouse this late in the game or it would not be counted. Which is the law, and I was glad to see it.

The way to eliminate crossover voting is to go to closed primaries. There are 15 states that have closed primaries it works well with them. This is something I've supported for more than three decades. The left claims closed primaries disenfranchise voters by forcing them to declare a party when they register to vote in order to vote in primaries. Too bad. The purpose of the primaries is to determine who the party candidate will be in the general election. Even if a person claims to be an independent voter, they still can be when it comes time to actually elect a candidate from the ballot on the general election. Closed primaries do not disenfranchise voters. It's the choices they make that disenfranchise them.
