Glass Etching

My book club etched matching wine glasses with our initials. We printed out our club name and our initials on plastic sheets and cut them out. None of us have cricuts either. The glasses turned out fantastic!

I just bought some really cute candy jars for teacher gifts that I want to etch initials onto and fill w candy

Let's just hope I don't screw it up. I have just enough for one for each teacher. If I screw one up, I gonna have to get one of them fired...

how do you do your candy jars?

Just a word here about SAFETY. The active ingredient in the etching cream is hydrofluoric acid. It will eat your flesh off plumb down to the bone.

Treat that stuff with plenty of respect.

I've been doing stained and leaded glass for more than 25 years. Wouldn't catch me with any of that stuff anywhere in MY shop. When I need glass etched, I use a sandblaster.

I can only imagine the mess if I were to ask the hubby to sandblast the jars I have - there would be glass everywhere!
