High School Graduation Test to be Phased Out?

I have learned to take these reports with a grain of salt but it looks like the class of 2011 will be the last one that is required to take this test.
I posted this in General discussion too because I am not sure how many will see it. I know is has caused a lot of anxiety for some students and their parents. The State Board of Education is expected Wednesday to start the process to phase out the test that has caused so much controversy.

I don't remember having to take a graduation tests. If I remember correctly, graduation was based on grades, attendance and if you took all the required classes.

The system started requiring the tests in all of Georgia's public high schools in 1995. I have mixed feelings about it. When I went to high school we had the same system you did.
