Hwy Members, Need Your Support

We have some new members that may not be up on how we exist here, so this is an FYI to them.

DallasHwy has little to no revenue. We make little or nothing from paying ads, and we don't have paid memberships. So we depend on support from our members to pay the bills. We have to pay annual fees for our domain and our hosting service. All staff are volunteers.

A little history: Since launching the current version of DallasHwy.com, we have experimented with several hosts. Some were fair, a couple were terrible. In the past we have experienced lots of server problems which caused slow response and lots of outages.

Just under a year ago, we went to a better hosting company and upgraded to a Virtual Private Server. What that means in Stradial terms is; we have a space on their server that is exclusively ours. This host has been by far the fastest and most reliable. We would like to stay on it.

Renewal time is July 29th, so we have a little time to raise money. The cost for another year is $270.

If you would like to help support our forum, please PM with with your pledge and I will let you know how to get it to us. As always; only I, GC, and our treasurer Mrs. B knows who gives what. We realize that not everyone has the same financial capabilities, so just give what you can afford and it will be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Something's fishy in New Zealand.
Last year you told me it was 100 posts for $10 or 300 posts for $20.
Or was that just for me? :tapfoot2

Just kidding......it was 400 posts for $10 and 1,000 posts for $20.

I thought it was included with Obamacare. Doesn't it fall under Mental Wellness or Therapy, depending on how you look at it?

Do you take credit cards ? ? ?

(I cannot afford to be seen giving you money in public, it would ruin my miserly reputation.)

Who has checks? Really. :))

You should set up a pay pal account. All my friends that sell on Etsy do and I do not think there is a charge. (I am not sure though, but you could check it out. Just ease of online payment verses buying a stamp and/or having to meet or drive somewhere to give cash.) Plus you could say something nice and a person feeling generous could click on that link right then, verses you saying something nice, they have good intentions of helping and someone else ruins that generous feeling prior to them buying a stamp or driving somewhere. :))

That's a good idea, I'll see if we can make that happen.

Don't let that go to your head.

Well it is rotating out with the Weather banner so I am working to fix that.

You might want to make a sticky with a direct link. Some have ad block and do not see it or the weather. :whistle
