I've learned a lot from you all on here about religion but I must say you have all hurt me. While helping out a local Church this was hanging in the main classroom. How in Gods name could you all keep this from me? How could you not tell me Jesus was a black guy!?!?!?

I am so sorry.

Southern Baptists don't believe in black Jesus - I blame it on Sadie's ancestors...

Really? We are well-aware that he was a Jew. ;)

No not really, I was making at smart aleck remark...

None of you are right.
Jesus was mexican.
In fact, he is back already and working at the mexican restaurant in Douglasville.
I know this to be a fact, because I ate there the other day and he had a name tag on and it read Jesus.

(I tipped extra, it doesn't hurt to suck up a little)

He must have changed jobs - he was working in the produce dept. at Whole Foods in Marietta. I called and talked to him once about getting several watermelons.

Well, he must be moonlighting as a truck driver too because I dispatched him to haul a shipment for us on Friday. He spelled his first name for me, in a heavy accent, J-E-S-U-S. I thought it would be disrespectful to ask for a last name. Come to think of it, that's a very good question.

Well that's a first. :laugh

I know it's not like me to be a smartypants, but it's been a heck of a day so it just slipped out.

Well he is Jesus, I have no doubt he can be in two places at once.
You should have mentioned his changing the melons into watermelon wine, in the original package as it were.

I will ask him about that the next time I see him there. You have a good point, the wine selection at Whole Foods is great - now I know why.

I could be wrong, but I think in those days, Jesus would have been know as Jesus ben Joseph.
That meant Jesus son of Joseph.

My belief is, they didn't have last names back then. I'm sure there were others named Jesus but Jesus the Christ didn't have a last name. Just like Noah and David...and Peter and John........they didn't have last names either but yet, we know who Christians are talking about when they mention their names.

None of these comments explain why none of you told me that Jesus was a black guy. I think his last name was Jackson.
