My son and I were just discussing the Australians. I said I always thought they were much more independent and rugged than the USA.

I was surprised when their country went so "green" that it hurt the people, and now I am appalled at the lock down situation... but was happy to see the protests and masses of people defying the lock down.

My son said they got neutered back in the 90's when the government took their guns away. Some mass shooting and the elected country leaders voted guns out. He said since then, they have been milk toast getting walked all over by their leaders.

They must prove a need to have the gun is my understanding.

Again, I want our "leaders" to be more afraid of their "subjects." It does not end well when the despots don't fear a rebellion of their countrymen.
