Lithia Springs?

OK...this is probably a dumb question but I don't know the answer so I'll ask.

Given the picture below, does that carport look like it would really hold up a heavy vehicle like a pickup or SUV?

I blew the pic up...looks like the carport is backfilled and there's a narrow crawl under what I'm assuming is the utility room. But can't say for sure from the pics.

If the carport is backfilled, it should be fine.

Typically in that design, there's a utility room behind the carport and the washer/dryer is in it.

Ah...that makes sense. The W/D actually is in there but that area is split into 2 rooms. The W/D is in the left part and is accessible from inside the house. Not sure about the other part since the door was locked.

Any idea what it would cost to enclose the carport to be a garage? Thanks!!
J-Man's SIL does that, he could probably tell you.

Biggest thing is that you'll have to build a floor to level it. And you'll probably want a mini-split heat pump in there to condition it. I know someone who can handle that.

I'm confused....build a floor to level it for a garage? Or is that to make it another room in the house?

In case anyone has been losing sleep over this question....yep, it's backfilled so no issues with parking there. :D

This particular property also has a storm shelter. I think it would make for a great cat 'house'.

Dad, being shaped as a young adult by the atomic generation in the 50's, always designed our houses with "bomb Shelters" that we used as storm shelters.

Poured concrete walls 8" thick with a 12-14" concrete cap.
