Look what I made!

I thought of this the other day, and made it today. We have a Cricut cutter on loan right now that we have been using for vinyl cut outs of sea life for BabyB's room. We are cutting fish, whales (squeeeee!) and octopuses (octopi?). Then I got an idea. Yesterday while in JoAnn I found scrapbook paper that matched the rug in the nursery, so I got a couple of pieces at .39. Today I went to Goodwill and got a picture frame for 1.21, and went to Home Depot and got spraypaint for 3.74. So, today I made this:

I cut out the whale of vinyl, at 5".

Spraypainted the frame blue, mod podged the paper to the cardboard in the frame, then stuck the whale on it. The vinyl is the kind that has adhesive on the back. The I modpodged some newspaper "rolls" on the back of the cardboard so it wouldn't bow. Inserted the glass, the whale, then the frame back. viola! It was all less than $5!

And I thought of this crafty thing myself! LOL What do y'all think?

Totally cool! I have a Cricut too! Those things rock. Although I seem to do more school projects these days than scrapbooking. :(

Thank's y'all! LOL I was so excited over my "thriftiness" yesterday, too!

Madea, MrB brought that home fom his boss. She is a huge scrapbooker. I have never gotten into scrapbooking, but I love this thing! I wish MrB never brought it home, lol. Now I want a Silhouette SD becuase it will do fabric, too.
