lumber prices....wow

I've been looking for the best deals on pressure treated lumber and all of the big stores have done went berserk. Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, 84 Lumber, True Value, etc...talk about sticker shock/.

So, here's my question....who's got the absolute lowest prices on pressure treated lumber? I'm building a pole barn on the back of my property and wondering who's got the best deals right now.

I was going to build a shelter for firewood. I'll wait for the lumber prices to come down. I don't want to spend a grand on what would normally cost about $200.

I just pulled my invoice, for the 2x10x16, #2 Ground Contact treated (.15) 2x8x16 and 2x10x16 were $21 each and and 2x12x16 were $30 each on on 5/4 of last year. Home Depot wants $32 for the 2x8x16, $40 for the 2x10x16 and $74 for the 2x12x16

Holy cow! I got an email today from one of the gun sites with an ad for 9mm ammo at $34/box if you buy a case of 1000. Geez, it wasn't that long ago that you could get a box of 9mm ball ammo at Academy for $9 - $10. Now an afternoon of target practice shooting at plywood backed targets will cost more than a room addition on your house.

We were planning on a living room remodel with paint, shelves, and paneling this month.

And replace the floorboards on the upper deck...

And buy new furniture...

And a new swimming pool...

Maybe invest in some new kitchen cabinets...

These projects are now on hold for at least another year ... for now, we are just planning lots of getaway trips.

(and even vacation prices are pretty insane...)

:(

Since we cannot afford the prices to remodel the living room or kitchen right now,
I've decided to focus on smaller improvement projects.

The half bath is only 5x5... and dated circa 1997 with a sweet cheetah print African vibe.

I figure I can remodel the entire room for about $700... if I shop surplus or FB marketplace.

I have a 12' piece of decking board I need to replace. I'll probably have to take out a loan to pay for it. :spitlaugh:
