MEI LAN! and others, too lol

There's no doubt that it can be an experience there but so can the traffic over by Town Center or in D'ville. You should check The Thrift Store and The Endless Yard Sale for cheap patterns and fabric and notions to get you started. They usually have all kinds of stuff and it's cheap.

OK, I really know a little about sewing and those machines. If I can help, just let me know. :D

PS I used to make all my kiddos clothes.

LOL. You would be so proud. I did it. I went to WalMart. I looked and that had a nice singer. It is very similar to the one I posted. My husband is afraid that I will get it and never use it. lol I think I will. I am probably going to go back tomorrow and get it. I'll probably pick up a couple of easiy looking patters while I'm there to get started.

Woo hoo!!! Sorry you are in a mood, but this sounds great! Makes me want to run out and get a new one!

Oh, and for hubster - I don't suppose he's ever bought a power tool or man-toy that he used for a little while and then never used again. We should all be so perfect. :hrmph: (Like my next-door neighbor who got a high-dollar power washer and just ran it ad nauseum for like three weekends in a row, and ever since...nothing. Not one peep in two years.)

My hubby bought a pressure washer about 8 1/2 years ago. It's still in the box in the garage. ???

You can also check out the library for some really good books to get you started.

Excellent idea. I looked at some GREAT books awhile back with crochet patterns. I'll bet they have sewing stuff, too; I just never thought to look.

Oh, the people are why I hate WalMart so much. LOL Last night I went for the last time.I had four items. I was walking toward the only open self-check out lane, and a woman with a cart LOADED with groceries tried to beat me to the lane. She did. I was SO MAD. WHO TRIES TO OUT RUN A PREGNANT LADY? THAT HAS 4 THINGS?! Anyway, I went to another line and ended up checking out before her anyway, and she was mad and kept glaring at me.

THEN, when I walked out to my car, some Billy Bob from Arkansas in a beat up Pontiac van stared at me the whole time I walked to my car. I was getting creeped out. If I hadn’t have been so mad about the lady and her kids I would have gone back in and asked for an escort. Well, then I got to my 4 month old Explorer and found not one, BUT TWO carts against it. One in the grill, and one in the passenger door.

I almost lost it. After I got over being mad, I almost cried.

Do y’all feel sorry for me yet? LOL

Thank you for the tips! I will for sure check out the liberary.

I did get a Singer 3116 over the weekend. I researched and finally chose this one and got it JoAnne. I got some "play" fabric and tried out some stitches to make sure I knew what I was doing, lol. Last night I got a pattern for a shoppng bag that looks easy enough, and I will try it tonight. Though, I did spend an hour last night reading the directions and googling the terms. We shall see how this goes. LOL

And Mei Lan, yes I am sure there are some tools down there he has bought and hardly used, lol. Though now he's excited and wants me to make some curtains. LOL

Oh, excitement!!! :happydance: You'll do great! All I sew now are decorating items like curtains, and it's so much fun.

I just read this, that was hysterical and yes I feel so sorry for you. LOL

I always park way down the isle whenever I go to Walmart or the grocery store. I need the exercise and it keeps the idiots from banging up my vehicle. My daughter hates to shop with me. LOL

Not if you use flat sheets. I've been making my own curtains for years. I had a book that was titled "beyond Bed and Bath". It's amazing the things you could do with sheets and towels. LOL

My mom used to make our bathroom curtains from towels.

I usually park far away, too, unless it is at night and I am alone. I don't like to walk alone in parking lots at night.
