My Aunt and Her Faith

My Aunt Carolyn is on hospice. She's had a blood disease for several years now. She resides in Cadillac, MI and his a devout Christian. I was blessed in the conversation we had. The disease causes her to be in great pain. She told me she is at peace because she knows she will be going home to be with Christ very soon and will have a new body. She has a wonderful sense of humor. She said getting her new body must have already started because she is not in pain like she had been and everyone who has been coming to see her looks a lot older to her now. She was laughing pretty good as she said that. My dad is a minister and her only brother. She asked him to give the eulogy, which he is more than willing to do. She said she prayed that he would remain strong while giving it so his sense of humor will come out during it. One thing about my aunt, she could crack my dad up and he could crack her up as well. They have the same kind of sense of humor. I think they both got it from my grandma.

I'm going to miss my aunt, but I will rejoice in the fact she will be with Jesus and other family members who went home before her. She told me she is glad I have a relationship with the Lord and knows that I will see her again. I told her it would be the best family reunion ever.

I have so many great memories of her and most of them involve her sense of humor. I know Grandma will have a great joke to tell her when she arrives.

Yes, she sounded like a marvelous women to me too........awesome story, Fox...I know she will be missed by many...God bless her soul.....thanks for sharing.....

Sorry to hear about your aunt, and what she has been going through, and the sadness that you and the rest of her family are going to — and yet, and yet, as you say (and she says), she is going somewhere better!

Thank you for sharing your Aunt Carolyn with us. I'm happy to hear her pain is subsiding. She sounds wonderful. Have as many conversations as you can while she's still with you.

thanks for sharing....prayers for the family in this hard time.

Great story Fox...reminded me of a song my daughter did tonight at church. She sang Carrie Underwoods song Temporary home. This is just our temporary home and I think it sounds like your aunt is ready to see her permanent home and her new body. Thanks for sharing your aunts story with us!

August 3rd is her birthday. She'll be 76. She doesn't think she'll be here to see it.
