Nice Weekend in the North Georgia Mts.

I need to post a few pics when I get them uploaded, but Mrs. Reacher and I had a nice time in Blue Ridge over the weekend. The cabin was VERY nice and really too big for one couple. It wasn't very far from the 4 lane in Blue Ridge, but the drive from the main road was an adventure. It was paved, but if you didn't drop the truck into 2nd gear and even 1st gear at times, you couldn't keep the thing on the road

We rented 3 movies, sat in the hot tube and chilled out the rest of the time on one of the two screen porches. Here's a report about that Patak Meat Market I asked folks about a few weeks ago...GOOD STUFF. The place is off Ewing Road in Powder Springs. It's back off the road a little way and can be missed if you're not looking for it. But the steaks I bought were quite reasonable in price and of excellent quality.

We came home Sunday and yesterday I worked on the DallasHwy garage with the assistance of the Home Depot gift certificate Mrs. Reacher gave me. But it was awfully HOT weather to be working out there. I did only a half day today and had to stop and cool off. Partly because of the heat. but mosty because I ran out of material. :laugh

What do you mean if you didn't drop the gear down you couldn't keep the truck on the road? Please clarify as that is an important element in making a decision whether or not to rent that cabin.

Rocky, bouncy road? Just guessing. I know Blue Ridge very well, as my ex is from there and we practically lived there every weekend and all through out the summers.

Just steep, Hair pin turns. No problem going up, but we had to take it slow coming down. Nothing that would. keep me from going back. It was well worth the rental.

Glad y'all had a great time. Years ago ex-wifey company had a corporate house up in Big Canoe. We had options to use it three times a year. The house was WAY up the mountain, hair pin turns and steep!!. One year early Nov there was a light dusting of snow.................that was a joy driving down the mountain after our weekend retreat

Did you ride the train? That's a blast! Sounds like a fun, relaxing weekend!
