Don't remember the specifics but some type of multi-user phone line thingy-ma-bob.

More than one house sharing the same phone line.

(My grandmother had a 3 house party line when I was a kid,
you would have to wait if the neighbors were using the line.)

why ya mad at the great granny thing... she lived to be 99 and died in 2002 lol
