Said goodbye to an incredible lady yesterday....

LisaC

I'm here to spin the moral compass.
Yesterday, I had the honor of going to the funeral for one of our senior ladies at church. Mrs. June was the epitome of southern class - you never saw her without a smile or without her lipstick (they even had a tube of her favorite shade in her hand). Her husband is the kindest, sweetest man I've ever met and while we were talking to him, he looked at her and said, "she is still getting more beautiful every day." He looked absolutely lost but you could still see how very much he loved her.

I hate funerals, but each time I go to one for one of our dear church members, I leave with a stronger sense of appreciation for all that our seniors have done and have to offer. I even had the pleasure of laughing with one of the senior men who used to be a high school principal - Mr. Thorne was probably the meanest principal in Cobb County back in the day, but he's a big softie now. And, I'm coming to find out that they're all pretty much that way.

Be sure to love on the old folks at church the next time you see them, we're gonna be there one day... :love

That was beautiful and makes you pause, you are right, old folks are great!
I am so sorry everyone lost Mrs. June, but I am sure they are blessed to have known her.
