School shooting in TX elementary school

A lot of people are asking about that. Where did he get the money?
I thought the same thing. I haven't seen any news reports that have confirmed the shooter was the person who actually purchased the guns and ammo. What if some nefarious group provided it all for him? Some group maybe who wants to see guns banned in the US?

He'd been planning this for a while if true.

Texas school killer Salvador Ramos got job at Wendy's to save up $4,000 for rifles he used to massacre 19 young children, and shared his lust for guns with worried co-workers

  • Salvador Ramos, 18, worked at Wendy's to save money to purchase the assault weapons he used to shoot up a Texas elementary school on Tuesday
  • One of his former colleagues alleged he would brag about his plans to buy guns while at work, describing him as 'demented' and having 'mental problems'
  • She claims he 'suddenly quit' two weeks ago after 'he got enough money' to buy two guns, ammunition and a tactical-style vest
  • Another employee alleged he would send inappropriate messages to female colleagues, while his manager claimed he often kept to himself
  • Officials believe he spent $4,000 to buy the items used in the massacre
  • Ramos on Tuesday opened fire on a fourth grade class at Robb Elementary School, killing at least 19 children and two teachers

That is why the parents were trying to push through police to go save their kids... they knew not enough was being done to get the shooter.

I can't imagine what these parents must feel as all the information of how this was handled comes out.

I'm no expert on these matters, but it seems to be the officers had no idea how to handle such a situation. Perhaps we should be discussing proper training.

They got training in March.

They got training in March.

They were focusing on not dying.

You know it makes me think of a story I heard my grandfather's friend tell back in the late 70's. My grandfather's friend, who loved to sail, said if he wanted to have an advantage in a race, he would give a how to book on "improving racing skills for sailors." He could count on them thinking too hard about what they had learned instead of sailing the race, and he would win.

I wonder if they were too much in their head of what they learned instead of using their instinct?

The course included scenario training and informed officers taking part that in active shooter cases they “will usually be required to place themselves in harm’s way and display uncommon acts of courage to save the innocent.”

“First responders must understand and accept the role of ‘Protector’ and be prepared to meet violence with controlled aggression. A first responder unwilling to place the lives of the innocent above their own safety should consider another career field. Immediate, decisive action by school-based officers can have a dramatic impact on reducing casualties,” the training document states.
