So four of us went to ...

Actually, to my surprise, we had a good time (even during the rain). I have to admit it was sorta fun just to let loose and have a good time. Next year we may take our grandson, I think he'll like it.

Pictures?
Glad you enjoyed it even with the rain!

Ok, one pic did survive so this is especially for ShoeDiva and Sadie (don't laugh too hard):

You kinda remind me of Clark Griswald in European Vacation there.

True, it actually does. Originally I was suppose to be more of a pirate theme but everyone else liked the robin hood hat more so I went with it. I can't see it on me anyway so I could care less. The Queen had fun in her dress so that's all that really mattered.

I've never been to RenFest. :(

I haven't been in over 20 years. I'm sure it's changed a lot.
Those big turkey legs I see in pics look good. I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be at it though. Kinda reminds me of going to a fair and carnies scare me. Kinda like RNG and clowns. :D

Oh, they are pretty good/okay. If you like paying as much for the leg as you do the whole turkey. :cantbelievemyeyes

Ack! Really?

I think the dressing up and wearing costumes sounds like fun. Does everyone do that?

I'd say about 1/3 of the people were dressed in some type of costume, maybe more. We went last year for the 1st time, I bought the Queen's dress as a surprise but it was at the end of the day and it was about to pour down raining. We went back this year for her to be able to wear it and of course she wanted me in something so we had some friends who went with us and they made our other costumes. Apparently the big thing is to travel around to different cities and attend their festivals, different cities and different times of the year. Not sure I'm into that much but whatever the Queen says I'm sure we'll do. Her dress was pushing $500 but some of the outfits were probably twice that amount. Others just threw things together. Either way, it's a fun day with lots of shops, free shows, and old world crafts (spinning wheels, blacksmiths, glass blowing). Lots of kid activities (costs a few bucks extra) but the parking was free. Plus I got a $4 discount on two tickets for having a motorcycle license (no clue why).

It's worth a visit, nice way to spend a family day. Oh, and the "sweet tea" was good too. I really enjoyed the jousting at the end of the day.

The sister of a lady I used care for went to Ren Fests all over the place. She had some cool dresses. I love y'all's pic!
