Full Time Position Available:

Superior Court

This position provides support to the Judge by reviewing cases, drafting orders, and providing legal advice.

Main Duties:

  • Conducts specific research and advises the Court.
  • Assists in scheduling hearings as needed.
  • Drafting orders from hearings.
  • Staying current with case law, policy changes, relevant legislation, and best practices relating to the Courts.
  • Maintains efficient workflow of cases by reviewing and prioritizing files consistent with the statutory timeframes and coordinating hearings as needed.
  • Coordinates communications between judges and attorneys regarding cases, contacts attorneys to schedule telephone conferences, participates in pre-trial telephone conferences as needed, drafts correspondence to attorneys.
  • Provides support for various pre-trial motions, including motions for summary judgement, discovery disputes, motions to suppress evidence, motions to quash, etc.
  • Reviews routine legal matters, including domestic relations cases, for compliance with applicable law.
  • Performs related duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of law.
  • Admission to State Bar of Georgia.
  • Experience in civil and/or criminal law.
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and legal research skills required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and LexisNexis/WestLaw/FastCase required.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of this position.
