Statement SSO Hunt Creek Drive

At 10:30 a.m. on October 13, 2021 Paulding County crews were investigating an odor complaint and discovered a storm drain that had sewer in it. The source of the sewer was a surging manhole at 115 Hunt Creek Drive in the Bentwater subdivision. It is estimated that 3,150 gallons of sewer came out of the manhole and went into the storm drain. The main was cleared of debris and the pump cycle was slowed down to stop the overflow by 2:00 p.m. The manhole will be sealed and the downstream line inspected for any issues. Lime has been applied to affected soil and notification signs are placed at the creek.
