California was a GOP stronghold until 1992. The GOP needs to figure out how to get them back.
If the GOP could ever get California, it would be hard for the Dems to win the White House again.
Yep... San Diego was a Republican county when I grew up.
About the time we moved to Georgia in the late 90's San Diego was changing over to lean liberal . Parts of California like the Bay area, parts of Northern California, and Los Angeles were progressive and liberal since the 70's. My elementary school in northern California was progressive, the city we lived in was progressive and implemented zero growth policies. My father, an Ayn Rand follower, moved us back to San Diego where he and my mom grew up to get us away from that progressivism.
The influx of illegal aliens will prevent that from ever happening again.
It is not just the influx of illegal aliens, much of it is the school system. The schools have been taken over by marxists. In California it started in the 60's. But the rest of the nation has been infiltrated big time as well.
If you drill down deeper into the recall numbers and look at the "No" on the recall votes; the younger the voter, a larger percentage of support for the "No" vote. The older demographic had lower "No" votes.
The young people are the ones that believe in being punished for using straws, plastic bags, water, and "fossil fuels"... they believe the "experts" telling them that in 10 years the earth will end, or the tides will rise.
The are linked into the social media the preys on the fear of dying of Covid, that the government was the only thing keeping them safe. They are the generations who have been taught to fear any risk... and their media they participate in reinforces it. They believe only through government control will people behave and do what is safe. They don't have religion.
If we don't get back civics and facts of history in our schools and get rid of the socialism lessons, our country will all look like California.
If we can reach the kids and get them to think about how those "experts" and politicians, selling them these ideas, have continued to buy houses right on the beach (with tides rising?)... and many other hypocritical behaviors that do not match with the great crisis they claim are coming.
If the teens and young adults even stopped to consider, maybe they would realize politicians and the schools quoting the "experts" are not giving them truthful information.
Many Californians truly think of themselves as compassionate. They are willing to be taxed more for what
they should be doing in churches- helping the needy, homeless, and widows. Odd they can't identify that putting corrupt government officials in charge of tax money will never get to the intended project the money was for, to help the needy... They are willing to be taxed to mitigate use of plastic , fossil fuels, climate change... the latest scare the politicians have cooked up. So the next election, the government hand comes out for more money and yet another ballot measure ... Californians will vote for the additional taxation- because
they have been groomed to think that it is the "right" thing to do. It is crazy. Can't trust those Caladamnfornians.
