Vaccine Problems...

The virus is very real. I have never doubted that.

The hype and disinformation surrounding the virus is HORRIBLE! Sadly, most of us don't know what to believe. And that is NOT alright when we supposedly live in the freest country in the world.

Will I eventually take the vaccine? Unknown. Yes, what I went through scared me. I came very close to dying, and it could be worse if there's a next time.

I am actually very hopeful for the mRNA vaccine; the technology opens up tremendous possibility that could make us a far healthier society. I just want it better tested, I wnt some time under it's belt to prove there are no long-term effects.

Speaking of time, I think I have some. Contrary to what the CDC is telling us, I think the antibodies I now have will last me awhile. So I'm going to wait a bit ant take my time deciding whether or not to get the shot.

Each of you can and should make your own decision.

The British government just approved a controversial challenge study. The study is made up of 65 volunteers who have either had Covid with mild to moderate illness or have had one of the four major shots. They will intentionally expose these individuals to various levels of the Covid-19 virus to try and ascertain their levels of immunity and their immune system response. They will intentionally test some volunteers to the point of sickness. They hope to help answer the big question of how immune are you.

These are some pretty brave volunteers, probably braver than the phase 1 and 2 vaccine trial participants. We owe a lot to the unnamed people like these.

We’re a good 450 days into this thing and that’s a conservative number. While we’re counting active cases, deaths, recoveries, number of vaccinated people, number of unvaccinated people as well as many other categories, let’s not forget to tally the number of days survived. After all, isn’t that one of the most important? I too can be considered a dumbass for many reason, way too many to count and probably rightly so, but one of them is not because of my personal decision to skip the jab. As more studies are complete and as more information is released then a more educated and less emotional decision can be made. For some there has never been any hesitancy yet for others there is plenty. Both are valid and should be respected.

So for me…here’s to 450.

OK I am not on F**kbook, Twitter or any of the social media BS that is out there. I have not watched the news (except weather) for over a year. I am probably as/more conservative in a lot of ways anyone on this site. Having stated this I am not a dumbass. I talk like a dumbass, write like a dumbass, most of the time act like a dumbass but none the less I am not a dumbass. I have not taken the COVID shot yet. I am not sure when I will take the shot although eventually I will. Any one who denies that the virus exist is a dumbass. I think GD ( who I really like and respect) can verify this. I am very close to 60 y.o. and I have had the polio vaccine, small pox, chicken pox, measles, flu and vaccines I got as a child that I really have no idea what they were. If you chose to not get the vaccine based on religious, moral, family history, allergic reactions, any proven medical conditions that is your choice. If you choose not to get it because of some conspiracy social media BS you are a dumbass. Right now by my standards I am a dumbass. Not because I believe any conspiracies but because I just have not taken the time to get the vaccine. I realize that I am currently a dumbass and will rectify that this summer. Next post I will tell you how I really feel.
Go get the Pfizer and be done with it. I know here, many places you can just walk in... they can't get enough people anymore to fill their appointment slots.

I thought I would have to wait much longer to qualify to get vaccinated. I figured that would give more time to see what other problems might happen with the shots. I have been fully vaccinated with no problems now for over a month.

At my age, pushing on the 60 threshold in a couple of years, I feel it was the right decision to get vaccinated.

I do not support those under 35 getting it, and I really do not like the fact they are pushing to get kids or people under 18 to take it. They just don't have any risk, so why put an as of yet un approved, or approved only for emergency use vaccine in any one who has no risk. It makes zero sense.

Age, due to the inflammatory response in older adults is a HUGE risk. That is a fact

I think those 35 and under who have health conditions like COPD, Diabetes, heart conditions, and those who had pneumonia before should get the vaccine.
