Washington Post reporter troubled by 'racist legacy' of some birds

OMG...these people learned from the race baiters like jessie jackson, al sharpton, and the rest, how to pick off a healed scab of this nation ...to feigh hurt, and pretend something done 170 years ago by someone they and any of the people they know... never interacted with, or had any direct authority over their life, should be seen for what it is... a show.

Those with success or wealth 200 years ago owned slaves, what a convenient way to erase all early history in the USA...

What happened 170 years ago, but no longer occurs in our country, we should celebrate! We should celebrate how far the USA has come to being a great place for all who live here.

Slavery has no bearing on 2021 in the United States. We have NO slavery in our country... go boycott the countries who still have slavery, kill people because they are gay, stone women to death because they were seen with a man they were not related to. These marxists know our country is the best, but they want the power to crush it and take the wealth.

As a country we have for decades now embraced each other based on our actions, kindness, and intelligence and not judged each other by how much melanin we happen to be born with.

Overall Americans work, live, and are friends with ethnicities from all over the world. In our daily life we are not the racist ones. The far left marxists are the racists, as they know they must divide us as people to gain control of our country.

The easiest way to try to sow discontent is by something visible like skin color... next they label any behavior that is against Marxism, but is instead for freedom and liberty of all people, in the negative to create more division.

We must as Americans stand up for what our Constitution set in place to assure the success of her people. We can never let the marxists play their word games and divide our great country. It is our diversity that makes us a great nation.

:stirpot: What a crock of shit this woman is stirring:
The report points out that the National Audubon Society itself is problematic since it is named after famed ornithologist John James Audubon, a slave owner who has been dead for 170 years.

"I am deeply troubled by the racist actions of John James Audubon and recognize how painful that legacy is for Black, Indigenous and people of color who are part of our staff, volunteers, donors and members,
" Elizabeth Gray of the National Audubon Society told The Post. "Although we have begun to address this part of our history, we have a lot more to unpack."

Newsome was troubled when she first wore a work shirt that featured Audubon's name, Fears writing that her "pain is real."

"I felt like I was wearing the name of an oppressor, the name of someone who enslaved my ancestors, Newsome said. "I believe they should both absolutely change the name. It feels wrong to enter African American communities … celebrating [Audubon’s] name. It’s a reality I am wrestling with constantly."
