What a terrible time...

...this would be to have a special life event such as a wedding, birth of a baby, or even a funeral. A lady in our SS class lost her mother yesterday from a prolonged illness not related to the virus, and another friend's daughter had her wedding scheduled for this weekend. This got me thinking on just how much the current times have affected such events.

Just my vent.

We're in a mess right now for sure.... It's a bummer missing a trip to the beach or the mountains, but some folks are literally not able to even attend a funeral right now...they say the body will be buried (or cremated) and a memorial will be held at a later time. Others can't visit their elderly parent in a nursing home.

Some say this flattening of the curve is supposed to happen in mid-April... some say it will be much later, possibly into the end of May....yikes.

The U.S. Population is so large and we have so many idiots that still do whatever the hell they want to do, it would not surprise me to see this extend far longer than we want it to. I agree with Trump's stance in which each state needs to address their rules on lockdowns and such. We basically have only left our house to grab food (or go to work for my wife being a medical assistant) or over to my oldest's apartment. It sucks but its not that hard to stay home.

I'm hearing that women giving birth right now cannot have the father or anyone else besides mediacl staff in the room with them.

That would suck.

Cousin's grand daughter was going to have a baby shower this weekend. That's cancelled. We were going to go up because we haven't seen those folks in about 5 years, and there is another "new" baby that is about to have a first birthday.

The Arizona branch of the family just lost an infant grand daughter in child birth, and nobody was there but the dad. They aren't allowing other family in.

Yeah I'm spending some of the time at home converting my old family VHS tapes to digital. My Daughter's birth was on the last tape and I thought how much it would suck that I and all the grandparents and brothers would not have been allowed to be there.

It ticks me off that my company still remains partially open and so many other people still running around doing things like nothing is wrong.
