in the world if the Amish are committing crimes? The Amish. The folks who don't believe in using electricity. The folks who sew their own clothes. The folks who plant, harvest and preserve their own food. The folks who use a horse and buggy instead of a car.

They are a religious sect who have generally been known as to keeping to themselves. One just doesn't associate them with disobeying the law in any manner.

I had heard the end of a story about some Amish men being arrested for cutting off another man's beard and hair. I wanted to read more about it so I googled it. I found that story and more about Amish folks being arrested. I read another story about some women pushing another woman to the ground and cutting her hair off. I was surprised at the amount of articles about it.

Apparently some break off sects are not content with shunning as a way to show their displeasure with another's actions.

My husband grew up in an Amish area. He knew (can not really say were friends with) many Amish. He has told me stories like this one before. Cutting off hair is our equivalent, I would say, to a beating. Their hair is very important to them. This has been going on for years. (Husband has been in GA for 20 years and this was going on when he was a child/teen) I am always fascinated with them when we go to visit!
I do not believe any sect is truly free from violence and pay back.

I guess I now believe that too. :(

I've known about those people for a long time. Our computer crimes section has set up an Amish Task Force as a result of their most recent cyber attack..... :Ninja

Thou hast just received the Amish Virus.

As we haveth no technology nor programming experience, this virus worketh on the honour system. Please delete all the files from thy hard drive and manually forward this virus to all on thy mailing list.

We thank thee for thy cooperation. ;D
