What If?

There's a possibility we could get hit with another snow storm this week. Current projections state it could be early Wednesday and bring us 6"+ of snow. For the sake of this discussion, lets say you are on the BoE and this storm does hit and causes cancelation of schools Wed thru Fri. What would be your recommendations to make it up?

It'll be an ugly call but I do not see them taking away Spring Break. Not all of it, anyway. Honestly, I think they'd hold off longer on making the call this time. No need to hurry. They have more time to play with so why not wait to see if there will be even more time to make up or not. They can always add some time to each day after the break and what is the deadline to request the waiver for the days we've already missed? If we have another major storm with a number of missed days and it isn't too late to ask for it, look for that waiver to come back into the picture.

I would be willing to wager they would go the waiver route from the state for any future dates of missed school caused by inclement weather.

I think they would probably add time to the school days like they did last year. I personally HATE that, and it makes no sense to me, especially with a child in high school.

I think since the kids will not have winter break, spring break will be a good thing, and those vacation days should be left alone. (By the way, we don't have any plans - the older one has baseball, and he has practice every day.)

But the best way to make up the time, IMO, would be to add days to the end of the year. But that's just me.

Like I said before; make the graduation a week from the last day of school. Then you could easily move the last day to the right without affecting graduation to make up for days lost due to inclement weather.
