Yes, this is why it's not easy...

Very true.

So called medical science has been full of crap for decades. The real answer is, just eat somewhat natural foods and do it in moderation.

OK, that's hard too, I will be the first to tell you.

But the moral of the story is; don't believe the crises de jour that the medical industry puts out there.

Diet is vastly overrated as a cause of chronic disease... it just gives people the illusion of control.

Genetics are the primary factor with totally random mutations playing a major role...

It drives me crazy to watch people eliminate entire healthy food groups because of
a misleading pseudoscience movie they saw on Netflix and took to heart as gospel.

I think that while some of our science is true - the biggest problem is also science. We have modified and screwed with food so much that some of it isn't really food.

Bread was in the Bible. Bread has been a staple food in cultures across the world for...like...forever. I think it's important to differentiate between the real food and our processed foods. I feel like that's the biggest problem. That, and our sedentary lifestyles that come from many jobs.

They didn't have bleached bread back then though. White bread is really not good for you. Even breads like "white wheat" or honey wheat are usually white bread. Whenever possible, I eat only whole wheat or whole grain bread. I actually like it better.

The biggest problem today with weight and diet today is processed foods and the fact that most of us are sedentary. We can't sit on our butts all day and eat more than a bird without gaining weight.
