Army recruiting shatters records after President Trump election win

I hope you're not giving Trump credit for that because it wasn't him. There's two main reasons why the Army had been missing it's mission. Low test scores and applicants not able to pass a physical fitness test. The last few months the Army has been accepting those who score between 21-30 on the ASVAB. In the past it was very rare for the Army to allow anyone with test scores that low to enlist. The Army started the Future Soldier Prepatory Course. Also a lot more women enlisted in December than usual.

That's just what the headline said. But I suspect he was a factor in it. People know he will roll back the DEI and woke crap, and that was turning a lot of potential recruits off.

Recruiters had been complaining for quite a while that more than enough were taking the ASVAB and physical fitness test to make mission. The problem was not enough passed either test to make mission. The Army solved that by lowering standards and letting them enlist while giving them 90 days afterward to pass the one they failed.

And this alone shot enlistment to record levels in 2 weeks?

How did they implement all that in 2 weeks?

The Army implemented the Future Soldiers prepatory course started in 2022. They also implemented other recruting reforms that went into effect for fiscal year 2023, as well. The prepatory course is 90 days long and held at Ft. Jackson, SC. If at the end of 90 days they fail to pass the tests they are sent home. If they do pass they are enlisted into the Army. Those that enlisted in December through the prepatory course started it in late September to early October. Because the prep course was so successful it will be implemented at Ft. Benning to allow more who failed the ASVAB an opportunity to do better. The program and other recruiting reforms were instrumental for the Army to achieve it's recruiting mission for FY 2024. I know how badly you want to shower all the credit on Trump.

No, but a program that started 3 years ago wouldn't just set recruitment records now.

I don't thing any single factor has brought this about, but Trump being commander and chief again is probably one of many factors.

Think what you want. I get the impression that you're going to give Trump credit for everything good that happens and ignore anything wrong he does. One would think you believe he's a god.

And we get the impression you’re gonna give everyone but Trump credit for anything positive that happens. Think what you want, I know my grandson and his Army buddies are very happy Trump is now their Commander In Chief.

I don't think a one term four year POTUS would necessarily convince someone to make a long term commitment when the policies could change with a stroke of the pen by the next POTUS. I do absolutely believe pretty much everyone thinks he is a better Commander in Chief than Sleepy Joe or Kumalla.

No one here thinks Trump is a god.

It's gonna be a long four years for you if you get hurt every time Trump does something good.
