Sadly I have to say I agree. I cherish every minute I served (ok, with a few exceptions) and it saddens me to know I wouldn’t recommend it for my son or grandson now even though that thought goes against everything I stand for personally.I made a career out of the Army. I loved it and I miss it every day. If I were a young man today, there would be no way in hell I would enlist. Transgenders and homosexuals can enlist now. Although women can't be Rangers, they can go to Ranger School and take a training seat away from a male who can actually serve as a Ranger. It won't be long before women can serve as Infantrymen and in other combat arms military occupational skills. Just imagine that. Heck, you won't be able to say Infantryman anymore. I wonder what they will be called; Infantryperson? We always kidded around calling them "bullet stoppers."
There's no way I'd serve today.
