My point is some in the media were misrepresenting his BSMs as if they were awarded for valor on the battlefield. Besides, the awards don't make him qualified to be Secretary of Defense either. I don't see anything about his guy that makes him qualifed for the position. What's more is those who he will will be leading at DoD will not view him as qualified either, therefore they won't respect him. He'll be like that new 2LT that shows up out fresh out of the officers basic course to be your platoon leader.

He raises lots of money. Money from the people buying influence... the pharmaceutical companies, Military Industrial Complex companies, and others who, without paying off the leaders, would not have the political votes go their way.

They say that is how the evil ones get and keep these positions. They call in favors for the times they helped out a fellow republican candidate that was in need of funds, to pay for adds and campaigning activities. The swamp lives.

I guess republicans have doomed us to the next two years of getting nothing done with Thune as majority leader... such a shame. I hope I am wrong... but I doubt I am.
