I’ve shared previously that I was finally able to make the annual mission trip to Allen SD with our bike group. We left out Friday morning and arrived at. 9pm Saturday night so today was a down day to attend pastor Tim’s church service and help with their food give a way to the local natives. He preached a powerful and moving sermon then later joined us to sit and fellowship as he shared about the ministry he and his wife have built over the last seven years.
I’ve missed this trip for the last four years but finally got to make one. I will tell you without a doubt it was worth the wait. It’s just a great group of Christian men from different backgrounds wanting to share, minister, and help out in any way we can to help Tim and his wife. I think I’m getting as much out of the ministry as the local natives.
Here’s a pic outside of the church where we’re staying, you can somewhat see the town of Allen in the background. Tomorrow we ride with the Oglala Drifters for an all day tour through their sacred lands then back to break bread with them afterwards.
