American Cities that Foreign Govts warn about (ATL is on the list!)

I'm nervous about the southern part of the city and downtown during the daylight hours, too.

Downtown during daylight doesn't both me. Any area south of Turner Field, however, does both me any time of the day or night.

I wouldn't say it bothers me, either (hence my saying nervous vs. afraid), but I am def. on my guard if I ever have to go down there. And some areas - yeah, ain't goin' there.

During daylight areas, that area is so heavily patrolled because of the courthouses and Georgia State, I don't even think about it.

OH, I forgot about that. See, I go down there so seldom that stuff like that just flies right by me.

Rode down with my son-in-law earlier this year while he quoted a remodeling job, it was within 2 blocks of the Martin Luther King historic site. The owner wasn't home and we had to go around to the back of the house while neighbors and others were outside. We were both open carrying, I wanted them to know not to even think about approaching us. Also had one home in the area we serviced in our landscaping company, went down there about 4 times at different times of the day. Of course they never paid their balance but that was fine with me, rather not service that account and someone else can gladly take it over. Good riddance, don't need the cash that bad.

I ran service calls in the city for many years. I absolutely agree with the warnings.

And I will go on to say; much of the reasons behind the danger is nanny state policies.

I didn't enough walking through risky areas during my two years in Korea. I lived in the village and had to navigate my way through narrow dark alleys lined with gates topped with broken glass bottles to get to our work site. Once you've experienced that at 2 or 3am in the morning, complete with gangs and drunks, you realized when you have a choice to avoid it then that's a wise decision.

And the new game being played, Knockout, is another good reason: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/11/17/teens-knockout-game-growing-danger-with-deadly-results/?intcmp=latestnews
