Archeologists unearth hidden death chambers

There Jews were the number one target of the Nazis, but they were not the only ones, the Nazis were pretty happy to do away with many other peoples, including the Gypsies and others.
One of the least talked about parts of the death camps is that the Nazis used the prisoners themselves to do all the "dirty" work.
Selected prisoners were placed in charge of work forces, barracks and the other prisoners.
And as happens in those types of conditions, many of these prisoners who were placed in charge, became as sadistic and violent as their Nazi masters.
I have a book written by a young man who was in one of the camps and he tells of his life there, all the degrading things that happened to him and the beatings and tortures. All of which was done by fellow prisoners who were placed in charge of the other prisoners.
Sadly, that type of thing happens when you are in those unimaginable conditions, some will do whatever to save their own lives and the best or worst comes out in mankind.

Anyone that didn't fit into the plan of the "master" race. Head doesn't measure just right? To the gas chamber. Not blonde and blue eyed? To the gas chamber. Any ancestral history that doesn't pass muster? To the gas chamber.

What is so painfully ironic about that is that Hitler himself was NOTHING like the typical blonde hair/blue eyed Aryan race. I believe genealogists have found a Jew in his background as well.

There is a high probability of his grandfather being a Jew, but I don't think they were ever able to establish it as fact.

If it has been proven, I haven't read it. Not to say that it hasn't been done.

It is not 100% fact, but it is suspected.
But, at that time, it mattered if it was your mother or father who was jewish.
Jewishism (is that a word?) was considered to be passed from the mother to the children.

I'm wondering why that is what mattered to them, yet they still required 3 generations of ancestry to "prove" the purity of others' heritage?

I looked at it on Google Earth to see if I could find the possible location for it, but couldn't as most of the area is agriculture. There's a road that dead ends at the river that borders Ukraine.

The part that I saw looked very overgrown, as if it was meant to stay "buried".
