Are Jews going to hell............

Pursuit Driver
I was reading today and came across some people's thoughts about the Jewish people and hell. I have to say I was truly enlightened to a segment of believers who don't think hell is an option for Jews. It was stated that since the jews were God's chosen people that they would not go to hell. Please, I am not calling anyone out or trying to put them out in the open to be judged on their beliefs but I am curious where this comes from.

Just a little background........I grew up in a baptist church for 20 years and continue to attend a church that is preaching what some would say is a baptist theology even though my church doesn't say they are. All my life, I was taught from the pulpit and read from the scriptures that Jews are God's chosen people. They were chosen by God so He could have a people (nation) to work His plan through and fulfill His prophecies. God's promises are to His people and He has shown this many times through the ages. With that, He has also allowed them to see His most precious and gracious work of the Lord Jesus as Messiah. He prepared His people throughout the Old Testament so one day they could see that fulfillment of the scriptures in Jesus Christ. Even the scriptures proved they would reject Him. The OT allowed the Jews to bring a sacrifice to the alter for forgiveness of sins and this was the prepared forefront to what Jesus was going to replace. The Jews HAD to have a sacrifice for their sins in order to stay righteous in the eyes of the Lord. (That is why we have redemption through Jesus today) So the Jews didn't have a free pass because they were Jewish, instead, they were chosen to be the race that God used to introduce His plan of redemption. When Christ came and fulfilled the scriptures as Messiah, He said that a new covenant was formed with Him and no body gets to the Father but through Him. He didn't excuse or exclude anyone including the Jews. So for Jews and Gentiles, if they reject the plan of salvation that Jesus offers, then God's word teaches us that a place of torment which includes wailing and gnashing of teeth will receive the nonbeliever for eternity. At the Great White Throne of Judgment, all people will be judged and sentenced accordingly. True believers who have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior will enter into eternity with Him and non-believers will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire.

This is a common Christian doctrine that is pretty much foundational from the times of Paul and the other disciples. I know that some denominations have created a tangent over the years but please show me biblical proof that it is anything but what I described above. I am open to hearing what you have to say because I think it is very important to understand what we must believe. From my experiences, Jewish people make the best Christians because of the beautiful history and customs they have in their people. I haven't attended one before, but a Christian Jewish synagog is on my list to go and see one day.

In 1969 I was baptisted in a Jewish synagog that was converted to a Baptist Church. That was when we lived in Chaleroi, Pennsylvania. I was eight years old and at an evening youth function when workers hauled a baptistry to the basement. I asked the pastor what it was for and he took the opportunity to introduce me to the Gospel. I surrended my life to Christ that night and was the first to be baptised in that building. The pews all had the Star of David carved into the sides. It was a beautiful church.

I can't dispute your views with scripture, because none exists. I'm no preacher and have no degree in theology, but I can read what God's Word clearly states about Heaven, hell and salvation. I've sat under years of preaching and teaching and, as opposed to Obama who heard nothing under Reverend Wright for 20 years, I actually listened.

I support Israel and the Israelis because God has chosen them and goes on to say in His Word that he will "Bless" those who bless them and "Curse" those who curse them. Even if that were not the case, they are the most civilized and disciplined people in the region. But even as God "chose" the Jewish people, His Word further states that He has "Chosen us, even before the foundation of this world".

God said that it is His will that none should perish, but have everlasting life.

I agree with your assesment that God selected the Jewish people to fullfil his plan, but I take from the Bible that any of us can choose to either accept or reject His love and gift of salvation through Christ Jesus. Can anyone doubt there is a battle between Good and Evil in this world when the main target of violence is a country smaller than the smallest state in America, and the rest of the world turns a blind eye.

I have news for all the on-lookers. God WILL NOT permit the destruction of Israel. Believe His Word or not, the laws of God are never broken, they are only demonstrated. If America's leaders do not support God's Chosen people, they will regret it. This nation WILL get back on its feet ONLY when we have leadership that supports Israel. Not until.....

God created a covenant with the Jews. God will always honor his plan. There are references in the Old Testament regarding the covenant with the 144 tribes. I'll have to research that again. If I recall correctly, the bodies of the Jews of the 144 tribes who died before Christ was born on Earth, will rise from the ground and ascend into Heaven during the Rapture.

I do believe there is something in Revelations in reference to that.

It's true that God did have a covenant with the Jewish people but He doesn't guarantee Heaven to them just for being Jewish. They were found righteous in Gods eyes by their sacrifices for atonement of sins and their obedience to Him. You are also correct about the dead rising but they are to be judged accordingly at the Great White Throne. They aren't given a ticket to Heaven until the judgment. Also, there are only 12 tribes of Israel. The number 144 referred in scripture comes from the 144,000 witnesses in Revelation that are Jewish believers in Christ (12,000 from each tribe) who will be advocates for Christ in a world controlled by anti-christ destined to destroy Israel.

Beth Hallel in Roswell (on the Marietta side) is a great place. bethhallel.org

Jewish, Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, non-denominational - "Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me." John 14:6. I think if you were born during the Old Testament, God's knows your heart and He will judge the Old Testament believers and non-believers accordingly.

Wanted to share this.

This reminds me of a conversation many years ago while driving my Girl Scout Troop to an event. The girls were 14-15, one of them had recently converted to Mormonism, most of them attended the same Baptist Church. One girl was chastising the other about joining the LDS church and how she was damned to Hell if she didn't repent and come back to the "right side", her church. I listened to the conversation for quite a while, felt like it needed to be curtailed so I asked the Baptist girl, "Do you really believe the only people in Heaven are those that attend your church?? She quickly answered, "Yes, of course". I was flabbergasted but said nothing. It did however end the bickering and I redirected them to a different subject.

To answer your question BS, I truly don't know what God's intentions are. People of the Jewish faith don't recognize Jesus as the son of God, but rather a messiah as Moses was. Did the new testament change the old testament?? I truly don't have the answer to that and rather than try and figure it out, I'll just turn it over to Him to guide me.

I stand corrected. My internet dyslexia was kicking in.
