Best Cold Remedy you have.....

ShoeDiva

Shoes!!!!
Ugh. Head cold. It started yesterday with a scratchy throat, runny nose, and feeling like I have been run over by a very large object. My throat is swollen, but not that gross strep type swollen. Anyway, I have to go to school. I could run to the store for something, but I have to be there until 6pm. What do you do for a stupid head cold? (I do not get head colds often so I do not have a "go to" remedy. I would prefer natural, drugs make me sick, but I really do need to be able to function.)
I have been drinking tea and honey on and off all night, but that is all I have tried.

nedipot and nyquil... sleeping makes me happy
LOL. I am pretty sure the school would frown on me sleeping. :))

Thanks for the well wishes all. I have drank my glass of orange juice and one cup of tea. I am hoping for miraculous recovery soon!

When using a nedipot, use distilled water; not tap or bottled drinking water. I have read of several cases where people used tap water or bottled drinking water only to end up flushing a parasite into their sinuses that eventually caused severe ill health and in one case death. Nedipots are safe to use, but best to use distilled water. I use one when pollen is a big problem to flush it out of my sinuses. It works very well.

Grab some Simply Saline nasal spray while you are at Kroger. It'll flush your sinuses and you can use as often as necessary.

Good suggestion... virus cannot survive in a salty enviornment.
Grandma's advice to gargle with warm salt water is very sound.

I'm no help...I just got over one that lasted an entire week and nothing I took helped. :sigh:
Ugh...do not tell me that!
I just walked in. I feel like crap, but the tea did help get me through the day. :) Thanks honeybunny. I had already been to Kroger when I saw the post about the saline. :( I will get some tomorrow.

Screw the tea, forget the honey and the terrorist nedi pot. Bourbon, bourbon, bourbon. Thats all you need. Drink some bourbon w/lemon and go to bed early. You will be 120% tomorrow......or hungover.

The no sleep was what kills me too! I am going to try a little something in my night tea later.

Just call it a Hot Toddy. My grandmother always made her a "hot toddy" before bedtime. I always thought it was just a warm cup of tea.
