Calif. fast-food chains slash workers as $20-an-hour minimum wage looms

For the most part, I don't use fast food places. I shop for food and cook.

In my little dark heart, I hope this really hurts all these weak, snowflake, woke, idiots who vote for asshats like Newsom, and our current gay liberal Filipino/Mexican mayor of San Diego who has his nose so far up Newsom's ass it is disgusting.

Most of them can't pack a lunch for work if they needed to, and also use drive through to nourish themselves for breakfast and dinner. I am often amazed how people afford this. It it will be interesting if this is the Golden Calf that kills the democrats?

I know, I just stopped at the KFC for my wife and son, (I don't eat restaurant chicken, salmonella and all). She got the Famous Bowl and he got the 4 piece chicken tenders with a side of mac-n-cheese with a Dr. Pecker... $17.40!!! And we don't have the $20 minimum wage... yet!

On nextdoor, they are bitching about the Mc Donalds in San Diego County that only offer a kiosk to order, no cash accepted, and no person to assist you.

There are 278 comments Half are progressive dolts who think this is capitalism taking advantage, that the automation and lack of entry level jobs for teens and first time workers would have happened anyway due to greed of capitalism. Here is a post:

...because heaven forbid the CEO share anything with the workers. He could have loosened franchise costs to offset but instead, as Elizabeth noted, he took home $22MM as opposed to his previous $10MM. Without a minimum wage there would be a race to the bottom. Bosses would pay you nothing if they could. It’s like people just don’t understand the history of the labor movement…

Another sane response:

Newsom, in all his wisdom, raised the minimum wage. As usual, he didn't have the gray matter to think through the consequences. Fast food restaurants have always been entry level jobs and a starting point to learn the ways of business and capitalism. It's entry level positions are not meant to support a family of four. Now other position think that they are under paid in comparison.....and so starts the uphill slippery slope of AI replacement and inflation.

And this tit for tat:

Thank the Democrats for raising the minimum wage for fast food workers to $20/hr...so companies are replacing people with machines.

Can we please keep politics off this site?

Can we keep Politician's from sticking Noses into private business?

Welcome to $20/hr. Ya get what you vote for.

Yeah, when I first came to Atlanta I was looking for a job welding on the second or third shift so that I could attend Junior College during the day. I finally settled on a company that made haul away trailers for cars. I went and applied and took the welding tests and got hired. The next night I showed up and listened to a 10 minute ass chewing meeting about the NEW production standards. Apparently, the shop had just Unionized and gotten a substantial pay increase, and now management wanted their money's worth. No longer did they have trainees, only experienced production welders. The next night it was even worse because some of the guys complained that they couldn't make production because people were out sick and there were no temps. Management didn't care, they expected the rest of us to step it up and make production. Gone were the days when it was laid back and workers had a little fun doing their jobs building 2 trailers a shift, now they had to buckle down and put out some extra effort to make 3 trailers a shift.

Fast food workers now want $20/hr, but they don't want to do the extra effort or the responsibility that goes with it. Franchise owners don't want entry level workers, they have to have experience.

Most of these democrats don't want a job, they just want to get paid!!

When I was a teenager looking for a job, I thought I was lucky to get $1.45 an hour.
The minimum wage was $2 an hour when I enlisted in the Army. My pay as a private was $344.10 a month, which equaled $1.99 an hour. I knew a lot of young married soldiers back then who were collecting food stamps if they had any children.

Annual salary of $41,600 to flip burgers... However I don't know who is going to pay $17 a meal... If you have 4 people that is $68.00.

Glad I don't depend on drive through to eat.

One more industry Gavin Newsom has Effed..

Gavin Newsom's Restaurant Offers $16 Hourly Wage to Employee

I want people to see how evil he is.

During the pandemic, he closes all restaruants, but not his. He also let the county his restaurant was in get "out" of the restrictions, while many of our San Diego back country and smaller cities had the same rates of no Covid infection... but he lumped all of San Diego in with Los Angeles, knowing it would keep restaurants closed, beaches closed, schools closed, gyms closed, hair salons closed, small retailers closed. Giving him ultimate dictator powers.

The Tyranny of this ass hat Newsom is so large, it is shocking the sheep of California can't identify much of their pain and hardship living here has been from him and his family.

Four corrupt families have run California for the past 80 years: Pelosi, Brown, Getty and Newsom
